Hello friends,
In many ways this Sunday evening gig for us was just another night at The Ranch. But tonight the ANB and I played for the annual Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim fundraiser called Emeralds and Shamrocks Gala.
The room was arranged a bit differently and had green accents. The far side of the room was set up for a silent auction.
We had some special decorations on stage.
Arnie had brought some air guitars for the kids to have fun with. There
were quite a few kids in attendance helping out with the fundraising.
There were large tables set up on the dance floor for this event. There
was probably 250 movers and shakers attending the gala and giving their
support.
I see the festivities are beginning. There will be speeches and live auctions.
The band waits just off stage for our queue to start the show.
Yes! You may have noticed that Amanda is back tonight. Yay! She was
feeling better but was still taking it easy. Amanda and Crystal shared
the female vocal duties tonight.
Arnie says, "How 'bout some more Merle?" This was a pretty fun crowd.
On the first break, we played three sets, we were invited to partake in the buffet line. The Ranch puts out a great buffet.
I helped myself to a big green salad, a lamb chop, Chilean Sea Bass, Prime Rib, a selection of cold cuts and cheeses.
The band took our meal in the green room and then we headed to the bar
for something to wash it down with. Our host, the president of the
Boys/Girls Club, comped all of our drinks this evening. There were live
auctions, award presentations, and even games going on while we were on
break.
We got back on stage and entertained. Amanda and Crystal tag-teamed and
took turns in front of the band singing their hearts out.
Crystal even got a little sassy when she sang, "Man, I Feel Like A Woman". Let's go girls!
It was a good dancing crowd. They cut loose and had some fun after giving all their money to the Boys and Girls Club.
Our fearless leader kick off another country song.
When not being featured out front, Amanda and Crystal looked lovely as
the backup singers. They don't normally stand in the back row. We just
worked things a little differently for this performance.
I guess you could call this one "Beauty, Beauty, and The Beast".
Yes! On the last break we got some dessert.
After our last set, as I was gathering my things, I noticed the TV was
on in the green room. I took a picture of the band tearing down on the
big screen.
That was three nights in a row at The Ranch for us this week. Normally
we have a Tuesday rehearsal there too but that didn't happen this week.
This coming week we have a couple of private parties to play for on
Tuesday and Saturday. Tuesday is another fundraiser at The Montage in Laguna. I don't have all the details for Saturday yet. Just tell me where to set up and what time downbeat is and I'll be there. Thanks for looking!
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
