Hello friends,
Me and the KRB worked for The Mouse again on Tuesday evening (11/17/15). We played for
another Annual Passholder event. The park was open later just for the
APs with special events and entertainment. We played again in the Golden Horseshoe Saloon. It's a fun room.
We played four half-hour shows starting at 10:15pm. Yep, we didn't get
out of there until after 2am. I didn't make it home until after 3am. I
seldom stay out that late. I thought I was going to turn into a pumpkin,
it was so past my bedtime, especially for a school night.
Our stage manager, the dear grandmotherly Dee Dee, used my camera and
took some pictures from out front. This was before we got started, right
after sound check.
For some reason we couldn't get a backline like we normally do. I guess
it was because of all the other entertainment going on. Either there
wasn't enough equipment or not enough crew to haul it around. So we all
brought our own (very small) rigs. (But we got paid a little extra!)
Here's a view after one of our sets as the crowd is moving out to find more entertainment or food.
Dee Dee wandered around the venue and took some action shots.
We debuted our Christmas songs at this gig. Among them Kelly did
"Rocking Around The Christmas Tree" and I did "Please Come Home For
Christmas" and they both got a surprisingly good response. Jeff does
George Strait's "Christmas Cookies" which is just about the cutest
Christmas song I've ever heard.
We had crowds at every show, even the 1:15am show. But then it was over. Here's Beau putting away the monitors.
Then we had to roll our gear quite a ways out to the shuttle. Say goodnight to Art!
When you work your way through the maze behind the scenes at Disneyland
you tend to think of the band "Spinal Tap" trying to find the stage.
It was a great night. We'll be back at Cars Land on New Year's Eve. Feel
free to join us. We'll be right in front of Flo's Diner. In the
meantime the Kelly Rae Trio will be appearing at Knott's Merry Farm for numerous dates starting this Saturday until January 3rd.
I appreciate you taking the time to check out my little gigs.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
